Why FFHE?

During expeditions to Mexico, we witnessed the peoples endless shortage of necessities: bathrooms, covered floors, and adequate housing. It was obvious that while they worked hard, they seldom had opportunity to learn skills that would provide adequately for their needs. At the same time it was apparent that most of us in the United States were physically and financially capable of teaching and serving people there.

Sending money to Mexico could and does make a difference. We believed that bringing the two groups together would change people as well as landscapes.  Together those without would gain hope as they witnessed others sharing and serving. At the same time those with so much would realize the joy of sharing instead of just having.

Most importantly, both groups would grow together and become part of each other’s lives.
